Boston Braves game is first aired on WBZ.

June 15, 1948

The Braves beat the Chicago Cubs 6-3 at Braves Field, as Johnny Sain pitches a six-hitter. It is the first televised major league baseball game in Boston (the first in the U.S. was between the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds at Ebbets Field on experimental station W2XBS on August 26, 1939.) Jim Britt is the first play-by-play announcer for the Braves, as well as the Red Sox, since they do not play games on the same day until 1951.
